News: 121024 BEAST’s Dongwoon to Join “Catch Me if You Can” Musical as the Main Character

BEAST’s Dongwoon has been casted for his very first musical, “Catch Me If You Can”, and will be playing as the main character, Frank Abagnale Jr.

Catch Me If You Can is the comedy musical based on a true story that was filmed by Steven Spielberg in 2001 with the same title and starring Leonardo Di Caprio as Frank. The US musical broadway received four Tony Awards nominations, including one for Best Musical in 2011. The musical finally had their 1st international production in South Korea, premiered on last March and run until June.

The story is set in 1960s and tells about Frank Abagnale Jr., 17 years old genius runaway boy who deceives people by posing as various proffesionals (pilot, doctor, students, attorney, and a principal.). Dongwoon will act as Frank alongside Park KwangHyun, Uhm KiJoon, SHINee’s Key, Super Junior’s Kyuhyun, and ZE:A’s Dongjun. Frank’s love interest, named Brenda Strong, will be played by SNSD’s Sunny, CSJH The Grace’s Dana, JOO, and Oh Sangeun.

Catch Me If You Can (season 2) Musical will be taking to stage on December 12, 2012 until February 9, 2013 at Seongnam Arts Center Opera House.
